Erich Sekel – Minute for Mission

On Sunday we will welcome Erich Sekel to share a “Minute for Mission” in worship. A resident of Jersey City, Erich worked as a 7th and 8th grade Social Studies teacher at Sacred Heart School and served as the Assistant Director of Campus Ministry at Saint Peter’s Prep before assuming the position of Associate Director of Campus Ministry for Community Service at Saint Peter’s College in 2009.  Erich coordinates all domestic community service programs including the Campus Kitchen and the Saint Peter’s University Food Pantry and Clothes Closet.Old Bergen Church Deacons coordinates donations to the “Midnight Run” which has been renamed the Emmaus Project. The Emmaus Project is a weekly service program that provides bagged lunches and toiletries to the homeless and those most in need. The project takes place every Thursday from 2:45 – 6:00 p.m. making stops at Journal Square and Saint Lucy’s Shelter.

Please bring any toiletries, washcloths, combs, brushes of clean socks that you wish to donate. You can place them in the bin decorated with ladybugs located in teh church parlor. Thank you!
