Old Bergen to Help Sponsor Syrian Refugee Family

Church World Service of Jersey City has reached out to Old Bergen Church to seek our support in helping to settle a family of six who will arrive from Syria this summer. This will involve providing furniture, household goods, groceries and cleaning supplies, and “gently used” clothing donations. There will also be need to help with transportation from time to time. The commitment is for three months. A representative from Church World Service will provide an information sharing presentation to the Deacons at their June 4th meeting. Anyone interested in helping with this potential project is encouraged to attend.
