Palm Sunday and Holy Week

Palm Sunday – March 20

Join us for worship on Palm Sunday on March 20th at 11:00 AM. The service will begoin with a processional of palms led by the children and choir. There will be special music and the children will distribute palm branches to all worship participants.

Maindy Thursday – March 24

There will be a Maundy Thursday Service with Holy Communion on Thursday evening, March 24th, at 7:00 PM in the sanctuary. We will remember the Last Supper and it’s context of the Passover Seder.

Good Friday – March 25

We will join with others in our community for a prayer walk recalling the Stations of the Cross, as we remember the sufferings of Christ on that first Good Friday and visit where God’s heart breaks today as we visit sites where violence has occurred in our own city this past year. The walk begins at 9:30 AM at Stegman and MLK Ave.

The Chapel of Peace will be open for prayer from noon until 3:00 PM.

There will be a Good Friday Tennebrae Service of light and darkness in the sanctuary at 7:00 PM. This dramatic reading of the last hours of Jesus on the cross recalls the Seven Last Words of Christ.

Easter Sunday – March 27

We will begin Easter celebrations with an early service at  8:30 AM in the sanctuary.

Our annual Easter Breakfast, hosted by the Sunday School teachers will begin at 9:15 AM in Brett Hall. Cost for the breakfast is $8 for adults, $6 for youth, $4 for children ages four to twelve, and children three and under are free.

The full worship service celebrating the Resurrection of Our Lord will be at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary. The service includes special music and instrumentalists.
