Summer Peacemaking Program

Old Bergen Church will host our second annual Interfaith Children’s Program this summer – Building A Neighborhood Together. Children and adult volunteers from a number of different faith traditions will gather August 20-23 to explore what it means to “love your neighbor”. Using curriculum developed by the producers of Mister Roger’s Neighborhood the children explore what it means to make a healthy and safe neighborhood for all its citizens.
“Building a Neighborhood Together” provides a platform for talking about personal and communal peace-making. We welcome community leaders who talk about how they help shape a better neighborhood through education, safety and assistance to those in need. The program meets each morning from 9:00 AM until noon, and concludes with an open house and block party for parents and friends of the participants on Thursday evening at 6:00 PM. This year we will welcome Mayor Steve Fulop to join us in our closing celebration and block party!
