We will hold our “Rally Day” on Sunday, September 8th. It marks the beginning of our new Sunday school year. Students will meet in Brett Hall at 9:45 for crafts, games, story telling and refreshments. September 8th is also the second Sunday of the month, so it will be Youth Sunday - with children and young people sharing in the worship leadership. Our Wednesday evening Bible Study Classes will resume September 11th. We meet at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace. This new series is a study on the “Fruit of the Spirit” in Galatians chapter five. We will make use of the book, Tending the Wild Garden: Growing in the Fruit of the Spirit, by Eugenia Gamble. All are welcome.

Youth Service Project to Help Hurricane Victims
The youth group is collecting items to make hygiene kits for Church World Service’s response to the recent hurricanes and other disasters. Please consider donating the items listed on the flyer or making a monetary donation for them to purchase items for the kits. They will collect donations through Sunday, November 10th. Health Kits

The Deacons are hosting a Fall Festival on Sunday, October 27th, after worship from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. There will be food, games, a bounce castle for the children, a café barista, bake sale, mums and pumpkins to purchase and more! All Saints Day
We will acknowledge the “communion of the saints” as we observe All Saints Day in worship on November 3rd. We will name those who have passed from this life into God’s eternal care – especially those who have died this past year but including others whom you would like to be remembered.

The Deacons are sponsoring a Christmas project to provide gift cards for each of the children at The Nurturing Place Family Shelter in Jersey City. To help sponsor a child, take a star, write your name on the list posted by the “Giving Tree” in the parlor, and make a donation of $5, $10 or $15 to Old Bergen Deacons.
