Live Nativity – December 17
The children will present a live nativity tableaux during the 11:00 AM worship service on Sunday, December 17th. All children are invited to take part in this impromptu pageant telling the story of the birth of Christ. No rehearsal required, costumes will be provided. Just show up by 10:00 that Sunday morning. Children’s Christmas Party - The Sunday school teachers will host a children’s Christmas Party on Friday evening, December 15th at 7:00 PM. There will be crafts, singing, refreshments and a visit from a surprise guest!!

We welcome the Rev. Melanie Marsh to the pulpit on Sunday, December 31st, at our 11:00 AM worship service. Melanie was a summer intern in 2013 while she was a student at Princeton Theological Seminary. Rev. Marsh is now pastor at Riviera Presbyterian Church in Miami. We are pleased to welcome her back and look forward to hearing the good Word that she will share!

ASH WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 14th
This year Ash Wednesday (the mark of the beginning of Lent) falls on Valentine’s Day. We will hold our Ash Wednesday service in the church sanctuary at 7:00 PM. During that worship experience participants receive ashes created from the previous year’s palms of Palm Sunday in the form of a cross. I wonder if this year we should mark our foreheads with hearts instead?! I think we will keep the cross motif. But as we repeat the words, “From ashes…

PALM SUNDAY – MARCH 24th
Palm Sunday is March 24th this year. The service is a celebratory worship experience that begins with a processional of children waving palm branches and concludes with inspirational and upbeat music as we remember Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem amid throngs of cheering children and adults.

Come celebrate the resurrection of Christ and God’s promise of new life! We will begin the morning with an Easter Breakfast in Brett Fellowship Hall at 9:30 AM. Tickets will go on sale beginning in March. We will then gather in the sanctuary at 11:00 AM for a celebratory processional with bells ringing, special music, Easter flowers and inspirational worship.

Wednesday Evening Bible Study
We have just completed our series on the Parables of Jesus, and will wrap up the spring session with a six-part series on the Lord’s Prayer “Lord, Teach Us to Pray.” We meet Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace. All are welcome.

The youth are hosting a Taco Lunch after church on Sunday May 5th in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. Come join us for tacos and fellowship. There is no charge for the meal, but donations will be accepted to help support upper church’s youth ministries.

The Deacons are sponsoring a Pre-Mothers’ Day flower and plant sale on the front steps of the church Saturday, May 11th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Come purchase bedding flowers, potted flowers, herbs and other plants just in time for Mother’s Day. All proceeds will go to support the outreach ministries of the Deacons.
